I am Fran Gowlland
I specialise in creating unforgettable ceremonies for weddings, vow renewals and baby naming. I am passionate about creating personalised ceremonies that reflect your unique story, beliefs, and traditions. I aim to work together with you to curate meaningful moments that will resonate with you and your family for years to come.
I am married and live in London with my family. I have travelled extensively and lived in Asia for ten years. I have a kind, warm, engaging and empathetic nature and am a good communicator. I have a love of reading and telling stories and igniting ideas and dreams. My leadership roles as an educator in schools have given me the skills to become a confident public speaker and an active listener. I enjoy organising events and have a close eye for detail. I would love to meet you and explore your ideas.
I am an independent Celebrant and can work alongside you to create unique and personalised ceremonies to celebrate life's milestones including weddings, renewal of vows and baby naming. What are the steps towards your perfect ceremony?

An Initial Consultation
A ceremony consultation by phone or an online meeting to see if I am the right person for you. You can ask all the questions you have and describe the ceremony you have in mind and explain when and where the ceremony may take place.

Ceremony Planning Meeting
If you have decided that I am the celebrant for you then we can meet at a venue of your choice or we can talk the ceremony through by arranging an online meeting. At this stage you can discuss who your ceremony will involve, what you want to include, what the theme of the celebration will be and we can discuss the endless possibilities and begin to be creative. If you are planning a wedding or vow renewal, I will give you a Couples Questionnaire form to complete so that I have a full picture of your story so far.

Writing of Your Unique Ceremony
After gathering as much information as possible through our meetings and the Couples Questionnaire, I will begin to create your ceremony. I will send you drafts of the ceremony by email and you will be able to make amendments and additions until you are completely happy with it. If you are planning a wedding or renewing your vows I can help you write your personalised vows and promises.

Symbolic Rituals
If you would like to have a symbolic ritual in your ceremony I can discuss the options and share ideas as to what might be meaningful for your unique ceremony.

Support with Readings, Poems and other Creative Ideas
I will be able to help you research meaningful readings, poems, books and quotes that are perfect for you as a couple or your child.

Availability
I will be there to support you and answer questions throughout the planning and writing of the ceremony. You will be able to send me an email or a WhatsApp to ensure that you have peace of mind about your special day.

Rehearsal
If it is logistically possible, we can plan a rehearsal at your chosen venue. I will ensure that I am fully briefed on the venue and make contact with the venue staff, event planner, photographers and other suppliers.

The Celebration
I will always ensure that I arrive at the venue early and will be a calm presence ahead of your special day. I will check that everything is prepared and co-ordinated so that everything runs smoothly. I will engage with your guests, family and friends and those who are playing key roles in the ceremony and explain exactly what they need to do and where they need to be. Most importantly, I will deliver your unique ceremony and include the special elements and rituals you have chosen. At the end of the ceremony you will be given a certificate, should you wish this to be included.
